In These Mountains FY27 Infrastructure Grants

About this program

South Arts offers $30,000 nonmatching Infrastructure Grants to support non-programming needs that strengthen organizations preserving and advancing Central Appalachian folk arts and traditional culture, including music, handcrafts/material culture, and foodways. Eligible expenses may include professional development, emergency planning, marketing, strategic planning, minor equipment or software, and accessibility upgrades; applications are due September 30, 2026, and funds must be used by June 15, 2027. Applicants must be nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status or a fiscal agent, a FEIN, and a location in and service to an Appalachian Regional Commission county in Kentucky, North Carolina, or Tennessee. Colleges and universities, current or former In These Mountains Partners (FY19-FY26), and organizations delinquent on South Arts reporting are ineligible.
