About this program

Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement (WAM) and MOSH, in partnership with Cleveland Clinic Research, offer the annual WAM/MOSH Award providing seed funding up to $200,000 (total costs) over two years to accelerate basic, translational, or clinical research in brain health, with priority for studies of the brain–gut axis and the roles of nutrition and gut microbiota. Eligible applicants include Research Associate, Project Scientist, Project Staff, Assistant Staff or higher, with preference for women as PI or on multi‑PI teams; applicants (and mentors, if applicable) must attest the proposal is not currently funded or under internal consideration. Applications require a scientific and lay abstract (each ≤200 words) using the provided template, optional mentor support letter, and must be submitted via the InfoReady portal by February 28, 2026; reviews use an NIH‑style scoring and notifications will be made by early April 2026 with funding possible beginning June 2026. Awardees are expected to attend the WAM Research Grant Announcement (WAM Forum, May 7, 2026), submit mid‑ and final scientific and lay reports, present at an Impact Area Town Hall, complete annual reporting, and use results to support external grant applications.
