About this program

Cleveland Clinic’s Research Accelerator 2026 provides internal seed funding to accelerate novel scientific concepts and biomedical technology development (including drugs, biologics, devices, computational tools and digital health) to make projects competitive for federal support, prioritizing Scientific Concept Development (preliminary data not required) and Technology Development. Awards are up to $75,000 in Year 1 and may be renewed for Year 2 up to $75,000 (total up to $150,000); carryover between budget periods is not allowed and routine exclusions include administrative staff salaries, travel, routine patient care, capital equipment, and subawards. Eligible PIs must be full‑time Cleveland Clinic Assistant, Associate, or Full Staff in compliance with institutional research requirements; applicants who are current PIs on an active Accelerator, Co‑Laboratories, or Centers of Excellence internal award (or whose such PI role ended within one year of the May 1, 2026 start date), or who remain on seed support, are ineligible. Full applications are by invitation only and must be submitted via InfoReady by 11:59 PM on 2026-03-16 with required uploads (Specific Aims, Research Strategy ≤4 pages, combined NIH biosketches, detailed budget/justification, abstract, and reviewer suggestions); award notifications are expected in April with an estimated start of May 1, 2026.
