About this program

Cleveland Clinic and IBM Research, through the Cleveland Clinic — IBM Discovery Accelerator, will fund one internal project with up to $100,000 to launch or enhance a Discovery Accelerator project targeting either quantum computing applications for healthcare or AI/ML–driven accelerated discovery in biomedical research. Projects may run 3 months to 2 years and require an electronic submission via Cleveland Clinic InfoReady by March 15, 2026; a budget is required (PI salary, travel and conference costs are not allowable) and requests for quantum or other in‑kind resources should be indicated. Eligible Cleveland Clinic PIs are junior or mid‑career Professional Staff without active NIH funding (e.g., Assistant/Associate Staff, Research Associate/Project/Staff Scientist) and each proposal must include an IBM Research PI with appropriate management approval; trainees and technical staff may serve as co‑investigators. Applications must include a short InfoReady form, a 3‑page Research Plan, supporting documents and a one‑page budget (Excel saved as PDF), and applicants are required to consult DA projects and the Cleveland Clinic Chief Scientist prior to submission; awardees will execute a Statement of Work addressing in‑kind valuation, data governance and IP.
