Maine Technology Institute (MTI) offers the Innovation Ecosystem Development Program, a competitive grant to bolster Maine’s innovation economy by funding programs that directly support innovation and entrepreneurship within MTI’s seven targeted technology sectors. Organizations not based in Maine may apply but all grant funds must be used for Maine‑based projects that benefit entrepreneurs in those sectors; applicants must demonstrate catalytic impact with supporting metrics and collaborative partnerships are encouraged. Awards require matching co‑investments, may be multi‑year (funds must be expended within three years), are limited to one award per organization, and individual grants will not exceed $500,000, with multi‑year awards subject to annual tranching based on performance.
