Innovation Impact Grant (IIG)

About this program

The North Carolina Biotechnology Center’s Innovation Impact Grant supports the purchase of shared-use research equipment for core facilities at academic or nonprofit institutions, strengthening North Carolina’s life sciences research ecosystem. Awards of up to $150,000 are available, with priority given to projects demonstrating substantial institutional and broader community impact; a cash match is required. Applicants must be permanent, full-time core facility directors or faculty members at eligible North Carolina institutions. Proposals are due September 30, 2026, at noon, and the principal investigator must register in the NCBiotech Funding Portal before submitting.
