Interim Grants

About this program

The South Dakota Arts Council offers Interim Grants to fund special arts projects or unexpected opportunities occurring July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026 (regular season programming is not eligible). South Dakota-based nonprofits, units of state or local government, and federally recognized tribal governments may receive up to 50% of project costs (maximum $1,000) with a required dollar-for-dollar match; K–12 educators may apply for up to $1,000 with no match and awards are paid directly to the teacher. Eligible educator applicants include K–12 public, private, tribal, and qualifying homeschool teachers; colleges, universities, and statewide services grant recipients are ineligible. Apply online via the Adobe Sign form at least 30 days before the project begins, submitting a grant narrative (up to 3 pages), budget (and a resume for educator applicants); a brief grant report is due within 30 days after project completion.
