International Event Grants

About this program

The Society for the Study of Evolution (SSE) offers International Event Grants to support international symposia, workshops, courses, and other evolutionary biology events that foster cross-country collaboration, particularly in emerging research communities. Awards vary according to event budgets and available funds; recent grants averaged approximately $3,000, and virtual events are eligible. At least one organizer must be an SSE member, and events must address evolutionary biology, avoid overlap with the annual Evolution meeting, and demonstrate international communication, participant diversity, and inclusive speaker selection. Applications of no more than three pages, including organizer CVs and a detailed budget, are due October 15, 2026.
