Intervention Research Grant

About this program

The American Occupational Therapy Foundation (AOTF), with support from the American Occupational Therapy Association and the St. Catherine Challenge, offers Intervention Research Grants of up to $100,000 for one year to develop innovative occupational therapy interventions and generate preliminary data for larger studies. The program prioritizes early-stage research addressing racial, social, and health inequities and promoting social justice. Applicants must be early-career investigators with a terminal research degree or qualifying OTD/EdD research training, hold a full-time faculty or equivalent research position, and be employed by an eligible U.S. nonprofit institution; the PI must also be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or applicant for permanent residence. A Letter of Intent is required before submitting a full application, with the LOI deadline listed as September 18–19, 2026, and the full application deadline in November 2026.
