Ireland-Scotland Bilateral Network Grants

The Royal Society of Edinburgh and Royal Irish Academy offer Ireland-Scotland Bilateral Network Grants of up to £12,500 for three- to six-month joint projects strengthening collaboration, networks, and policy engagement between researchers and practitioners in Scotland and Ireland. The 2025 theme is “Community and Diaspora,” with projects welcomed across the sciences, humanities, and social sciences, particularly interdisciplinary initiatives involving early-career researchers. Lead applicants must be salaried academic researchers at a higher education institution or research institute in Scotland or Ireland and must include a partner from the other country; contracts must extend beyond the grant period. The award is currently closed and is scheduled to reopen from 2 September to 21 October 2026.
