ITHS Catalyst Awards

About this program

The Institute of Translational Health Sciences (ITHS) offers Catalyst Awards of up to $5,000 in direct costs for materials, supplies, and core services to help investigators complete projects, collect pilot data, and advance translational research toward future grant applications. Awards support six-month projects and are offered quarterly, with 2026 deadlines on January 7, April 7, July 7, and October 7. Eligible applicants must be ITHS members at partner institutions in the WWAMI region, including early- and new-stage investigators, postdoctoral associates, fellows, and research scientists; applicants are limited to one submission. Projects involving human or animal subjects require current IRB or IACUC approval or exemption, and funds may not support personnel costs, consultant time, or indirect costs.
