Joel J. Roslyn Faculty Research Award

About this program

The Association for Academic Surgery (AAS) offers one $50,000 Joel J. Roslyn Faculty Research Award to support early-career research by junior surgical faculty from July 1, 2027, through March 1, 2029. Funds may cover direct project costs only, excluding salary and indirect costs, with no more than 10% allocated to travel; applications are due September 18, 2026. Applicants must hold full-time faculty positions below the rank of associate professor, work in any surgical specialty, maintain active AAS membership, and not hold an NIH R01, VA Merit Review Grant, or career development award. Required materials include a cover letter, NIH biosketch, five-page research plan, budget, mentor letter, and department chair letter submitted as one PDF.
