About this program

John H. Jenkins Research Fellowship in Texas History, administered by the Texas State Historical Association and funded by the family and friends of John H. Jenkins, awards $1,000 annually for the best research proposal on Texas history. Applicants must submit a proposal (maximum two pages) specifying the research purpose, need for funding, and the intended end product (article, book, or exhibition), plus a complete curriculum vitae. Applications must be submitted electronically via the TSHA “Apply Now” Google Form and received by November 15, 2026; the recipient must be present at the TSHA Annual Meeting to accept the award and judges may withhold the prize at their discretion.
