John J. Abel Award

About this program

The American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET) offers the annual John J. Abel Junior Independent Investigator Award to recognize original, outstanding research in pharmacology and/or experimental therapeutics. The award includes a $5,000 honorarium, engraved plaque, complimentary registration and travel expenses for the ASPET Annual Meeting, and an invitation to deliver the John J. Abel Award Lecture. Nominees must be ASPET members, be under 45 years of age by the September 21, 2026, deadline, and demonstrate independent, original research; self-nominations are permitted. Nominations may be submitted by members or nonmembers through the ASPET Awards Portal and must include a biosketch, biographical summary, nomination letter, and representative publications.
