The Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST) presents the annual John P. Pryor, MD Distinguished Service Award in Military Casualty Care to recognize members who have made significant contributions to military casualty care and improved outcomes for injured individuals in modern theaters of conflict. The recipient is honored at the EAST Annual Scientific Assembly. Nominees must be EAST members in good standing and may be recognized for a singular advancement or sustained body of work; nominators do not need to be EAST members. Nominations for the 2027 award must be submitted online by August 31, 2026, with a statement of 250 words or fewer.
