Journal of Management Accounting Research (JMAR) Best Paper Award

About this program

American Accounting Association’s Management Accounting Section offers the Journal of Management Accounting Research (JMAR) Best Paper Award to recognize an outstanding paper published in JMAR; the winner receives a plaque and a $2,000 cash prize (cash awarded only to MAS Section members). Nominations are evaluated by the MAS Publications Committee and the award will be presented at the MAS Midyear Meeting in January 2027 in Atlanta. Eligible papers are those published in JMAR within the previous three years (for the 2027 award: 2024–2026); the plaque may be awarded to non-members but the cash prize requires MAS Section membership. To nominate a paper, email the nomination and a statement of reasons to Publications Committee Chair Markus Arnold (markus.arnold@unibe.ch) by September 1, 2026.
