Kathleen and David Boochever Endowment for Fieldwork and Scientific Analyses

About this program

The Archaeological Institute of America’s Kathleen and David Boochever Endowment provides awards of up to $5,000 for archaeological fieldwork and laboratory research using state-of-the-art, emerging, or innovative technologies to investigate significant questions about the human past. Projects may address any region or period and may support surveys, remote sensing, excavations, geophysical prospection, or scientific analyses, with priority given to researchers within eight years of receiving their PhD. Applicants must be graduate-level or professional AIA members with a PhD in archaeology or a related field and an academic affiliation; required permits must be secured before funds are disbursed. Applications are due November 1, 2026, and awardees must submit a final report and are expected to share their work through AIA presentations or publications.
