KY INBRE Core Utilization Voucher Program

About this program

The Kentucky INBRE Core Utilization Voucher Program provides approximately $5,000 awards, plus limited cloud credits, for Kentucky investigators to access scientific core facilities at the University of Louisville, University of Kentucky, or participating Southeast Region INBRE institutions. Funding supports core-use expenses, training, and potentially travel and lodging to generate preliminary data for grant applications, with priority given to researchers at primarily undergraduate institutions. Applicants must include student involvement, confirmation from the relevant core director that the project is feasible, and required NIH-form materials, with projects evaluated for scientific merit, public health relevance, experimental design, and feasibility. Completed proposals are due December 18, 2026, and awardees must submit a one-page outcomes summary within 12 months and present their work at the KY INBRE Annual Research Conference.
