Kyle Whorrall Graduate Student Travel Award

About this program

The Coleopterists Society offers the Kyle Whorrall Graduate Student Travel Award to support graduate students presenting beetle research at approved national or international in-person conferences. Four $500 awards are provided annually, with funds covering expenses such as registration, airfare, lodging, and meals; recipients must also give a 10-minute presentation at the Society’s online Annual General Meeting. Applicants must be graduate students in good standing, Society members, and accepted to present a nearly completed project with preliminary results, and may receive the award only once during their degree. Applications must include the approved conference abstract, an advisor’s enrollment and project-status letter, and confirmation of responsibility for travel permissions or visas; deadlines are March 1 and September 1.
