About this program
The Genetics Society of America’s Larry Sandler Award honors outstanding contributions to Drosophila genetics and recognizes excellence in doctoral research and training. Nominations are open through November 12, 2026, for students completing a PhD in Drosophila research between July 2025 and December 2026. Nominees must be submitted by a thesis advisor, department chair, or supervisory committee member and provide a 1–2-page thesis abstract, CV, and nomination letter detailing their discoveries, intellectual and experimental contributions, and scientific growth.
