Law and Normative Thinking Fellowships

About this program

The University Center for Human Values’ Program in Law and Normative Thinking at Princeton University offers full-time residential fellowships for the 2027–28 academic year to support research, scholarly collaboration, and discussion on law and normative inquiry. Fellows participate in a weekly seminar and mentor JD/PhD students, with an anticipated salary of $100,000. Applicants may be faculty, legal practitioners, or independent scholars from any discipline, including domestic and international candidates, and must hold a doctorate, J.D., or equivalent professional degree; the fellowship is not intended as a postdoctoral or visiting assistant professor position. Applications require a cover letter, CV, research statement of up to 1,500 words, writing sample, and two referees, with submissions due December 3, 2026, and references due December 10, 2026.
