Lloyd Library & Museum Artist-in-Residence Program

About this program

The Lloyd Library & Museum offers Artist-in-Residence awards to professional artists developing creative work informed by on-site research in its collections, including botany, natural history, ethnobotany, and the histories of science, medicine, or pharmacy. Residencies last one to three months between January and December 2027, with monthly stipends of $2,000 for local artists and $3,000 for artists from outside the region. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in art or equivalent experience, conduct library-based research at least 20 hours per week, and submit a CV, artwork samples, and two recommendation letters. Projects must produce artwork, a website, or video, along with a public presentation and acknowledgment of the Lloyd; applications are due November 1, 2026.
