About this program
The California Department of Transportation’s Local Highway Safety Improvement Program provides federal funding for infrastructure projects that reduce traffic fatalities and serious injuries on local public roads. Awards generally range from $100,000 to $10 million, require a 10% match, and are reimbursed over a three- to five-year period.
