About this program
Maryland Industrial Partnerships (MIPS) provides competitive matching funds for industry–university research partnerships that advance the development and commercialization of products and processes. Projects are company-initiated and may address engineering, computer science, physical sciences, or life sciences, with awards of up to $100,000 per year for large and small companies and $90,000 for startups.
Proposals must be submitted jointly by a Maryland company and a researcher from a Maryland public university. Projects should support the company’s research and development goals and demonstrate potential commercial or economic benefits to Maryland.
