About this program

The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) offers the Melanie C. Grossman, MD Award for Leadership, Mentorship, and Advocacy for Women in Medical Science to recognize individuals who advance women’s professional development in specialties using lasers or energy-based devices. The recipient receives a plaque and $1,000 and presents a brief talk at the ASLMS Annual Conference’s Celebration of ASLMS Women in Energy-Based Devices. Nominees may be ASLMS members or nonmembers and must demonstrate excellence in leadership, mentoring, and sustained promotion or advocacy for women in the field; nominations for the 2027 award are due September 1, 2026.
