MGSA Innovation Grant

About this program

The Modern Greek Studies Association (MGSA) offers biannual Innovation Grants (typically $500–$1,000) to support institutional and nonprofit projects that advance Modern Greek Studies—such as conferences, workshops, digitization, and web-based educational initiatives, including work on the Greek diaspora. Applicants must be current MGSA members and apply on behalf of an institution or professional nonprofit (individual activities are not eligible); faculty (tenured, tenure-track, adjunct), graduate instructors, librarians, and staff are all eligible, and non‑North American institutions may apply. Proposals should be 1–2 pages addressing project overview and rationale, anticipated benefits to the field, institutional venue and timeline, and a brief budget narrative; awards are competitive, may be renewed for multi‑year projects, and require MGSA acknowledgment on outputs and a 500‑word closing report within six months.
