Mildred Sylvester Scholarship

About this program

The American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF), through the estate of Mildred Sylvester, offers a $5,000 annual scholarship to an outstanding first-, second-, or third-year veterinary student. Applicants must attend an AVMA-accredited U.S. veterinary school, be in good standing and a SAVMA member, and have a connection to New Jersey. Selection also considers academic excellence, leadership and participation in university and community activities, and financial need; applications are accepted September 1–30, 2026.
