Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Grants

The Minnesota Historical Society offers Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage (Legacy) Grants, a competitive, state-funded program supporting projects that preserve and interpret Minnesota’s history and cultural heritage. Funded through the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, grants may support work involving historic properties, collections, records, research, and public interpretation. Eligible applicants generally include Minnesota nonprofit organizations, governmental units, tribal organizations, and educational institutions, with projects required to meet program eligibility and preservation standards. The 2026 small-grant application deadlines are July 10 and October 9.
