MMUF Adjunct Faculty Fellowships

Funded by The Mellon Foundation and administered by the Institute for Citizens & Scholars, the MMUF Adjunct Faculty Fellowship provides a $10,000 stipend, six months of protected research time, mentorship, and professional support to help adjunct faculty pursue tenure-track positions. Two fellowships are awarded annually, and Fellows must teach one course, complete the proposed research, and submit a final report and tenure-track application plan. Applicants must be Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship alumni, hold a Ph.D., be adjunct faculty in an eligible humanities or social science field, and be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Applications are accepted August 17–October 30, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. ET.
