Mollie Beattie Visiting Scholar Program

About this program

The Society of American Foresters’ Mollie Beattie Visiting Scholar Program provides a one-time $10,000 stipend and one year of SAF membership to support compelling research in forestry and related natural resources in the United States. Preference may be given to projects connected to public policy or with broader impacts on forest management or the profession. Applicants must be graduate students, postdoctoral students, or early-career professionals within five years of their degree, belong to an underrepresented group in forestry or natural resources, and be located in the United States; advanced undergraduates may be considered with strong faculty support. Applications require a cover letter, CV, advisor or supervisor letter, and 250-word research abstract, and are due August 31, 2026.
