Montana INBRE Faculty Research and CAB Planning RFP, 2027-2028

About this program

Montana INBRE at Montana State University invites 2027–2028 proposals for Pilot Research Projects ($10,000–$50,000), Major Research Projects ($50,000–$100,000), and Community Advisory Board Planning Grants (up to $10,000) addressing biomedical, public health, environmental health, community wellness, and rural or Native American health challenges. Awards support one year of work from May 1, 2027, through April 30, 2028, contingent on NIH/NIGMS funding, with no carryover permitted. Eligible applicants are full-time faculty with terminal degrees and NIH R-series eligibility across biomedical, social, behavioral, agricultural, computational, engineering, and related fields; priority is given to new, junior, and early-stage investigators without independent funding. Applicants must submit a Letter of Intent by October 5, 2026, and a complete proposal by November 2, 2026, identify a primary mentor, consult relevant INBRE cores, and meet applicable IRB/IACUC and person-month requirements.
