NAEF Grants (National Art Education Foundation grants for art educators)

About this program

The National Art Education Foundation (NAEF) offers annual grants to support instructional practice, classroom-based research, and leadership in visual arts education, with multiple award programs including Ruth Halvorsen and Mary McMullan Grants (up to $3,000), NAEF Research Grants (up to $10,500), SHIP Grants (up to $1,000), and Teacher Incentive Grants (up to $3,000). Eligible applicants are individual NAEA members with at least one year of continuous membership prior to application, state/province associations, and NAEA-recognized special issues groups; other nonprofits and organizations cannot apply, and members may not apply on behalf of their employing institution. For each cycle, guidelines are posted by August 15, applications are due October 1 (11:59 pm ET), award notifications are made June 1, the project period runs July 1–June 30, and final reports are due within 30 days of project completion.
