National Fellowship (Summer 2026)

About this program

The Center for Health Journalism at USC Annenberg offers the National Fellowship (Summer 2026) to support journalists and newsrooms producing enterprise reporting on the health, welfare, and well‑being of children, families, and communities, with emphasis on health inequities tied to race, geography, gender, income, and social/environmental determinants. Fellows attend a four‑day in‑person learning intensive in Los Angeles, receive five months of professional mentorship and virtual support to complete a major reporting project, and are awarded reporting grants of $2,000–$10,000, with eligibility to apply for additional engaged‑journalism mentorship and $1,000–$2,000 in support.
