National Humanities Center Residential Fellowships

About this program

The National Humanities Center offers prestigious Residential Fellowships providing scholars with dedicated time, space, research support, and an interdisciplinary intellectual community to advance substantial humanities projects toward publication. Fellows must reside at the Center for one or two semesters; international applicants are eligible, with support potentially including travel reimbursement, visa sponsorship, and individually determined stipends. Applicants generally must hold a relevant terminal degree earned by September 30, 2021, have published scholarly work, and be pursuing an advanced-stage project beyond the dissertation. Applications for 2027–28 require a proposal, bibliography, CV, project outline, and three recommendation letters; materials are due October 1, 2026, with letters due October 8.
