The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), with support from the Templeton Religion Trust, will host a conference on the Economics of Religion on November 14, 2026 in San Francisco to showcase recent multidisciplinary research on how religion shapes economic, political, demographic, and institutional outcomes. Papers must be uploaded by 11:59 pm ET on September 1, 2026 via the online submission link; selected presenters will be notified in early September, one presenting author will receive an honorarium (co-authors may attend but will not be paid), and modest graduate student travel support is available. Submissions are welcome from across disciplines but should not be already accepted for publication to appear by November 2026, and papers presented at NBER conferences may not offer policy recommendations or normative judgments.
