NCIS Research Grants

About this program

The National Coalition of Independent Scholars (NCIS) offers $599 research grants to help members finance upcoming research activities conducted within 12 months of the award decision; retroactive expenses are not eligible. Applicants must be full NCIS members in good standing—or presidents of affiliated partner groups—for at least 15 consecutive months before the deadline and must not have received another NCIS $599 grant within the previous 18 months. Applications are due February 1, June 1, or October 1 for spring, summer, and fall awards, respectively; only one grant may be awarded per applicant.
