New Music Conductor Fellowship

About this program

Funded by Kurt Rohde and offered through the Composers Conference, the New Music Conductor Fellowship supports an emerging conductor through a residency with guest conductors, the Conference Ensemble, living composers, and fellows. The fellowship covers tuition, room and board, and limited travel expenses. Applicants should be early-career conductors with substantial training, a strong commitment to contemporary music and collaborative practice, and an interest in supporting underrepresented composers and performers; preference is given to BIPOC/ALAANA and non-male-identifying candidates. Applications require unedited rehearsal and performance videos featuring repertoire from 1950 onward, preferably by living composers; the next stated deadline is April 1, 2027.
