Next Gen Pregnancy Initiative

About this program

The Burroughs Wellcome Fund’s Next Generation Pregnancy Initiative supports innovative, high-risk/high-reward basic research addressing healthy pregnancy, preterm birth, pregnancy loss after 12 weeks, and preeclampsia, with emphasis on preventing adverse outcomes. Eligible principal investigators include senior postdoctoral fellows, staff scientists, and assistant or associate professors based at public or private nonprofit institutions in the United States or Canada. Applicants must complete the ProposalCentral eligibility check, obtain institutional certification, and may submit only one application; current or former BWF Preterm Birth or Next Generation Pregnancy awardees are ineligible.
