About this program
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) offers the Norman Medal annually to recognize an original paper making a significant practical or research contribution to an engineering discipline, particularly one with impact on engineering practice. Eligible papers must have appeared in an online ASCE journal between July and June of the year preceding the award and must not have been previously published elsewhere. Papers may include non-ASCE authors, but at least half of the authors must be ASCE members in good standing at nomination. Anyone may nominate a paper by October 1, submitting a signed cover letter and a copy of the published paper.
