About this program

North Adams School District Music Fund, an endowed fund of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, provides grants to support student music study and appreciation in North Adams Public Schools, awarding generally $200–$2,000 while the endowment grows; applications are due October 15, 2026. Eligible applicants include students, teachers, administrators, staff, parents, nonprofits and community members affiliated with North Adams Public Schools, and projects may fund instrument purchase/rental, recording or performance equipment, private music instruction, artists-in-residence, or field trips. Grants must supplement—not replace—public school funding, are reviewed for excellence, impact and feasibility by the Gateway Fund and Berkshire Taconic boards, and will not support organizations that discriminate.
