About this program

The Ohio Biological Survey offers small grants to support research, surveys, specimen collection/curation, and publications that occur partially or wholly in Ohio and advance the Survey’s objectives in documenting occurrence, distribution, taxonomy and ecology of Ohio’s biota. Funding is open to individual members and to institutional or corporate members, and applications must include a project description, methods, expected products, a detailed budget, and answers about permits, prior funding, and specimen curation; proposals are due March 15. Individual applicants must be current individual members; institutional/corporate applicants must be active employees or members of a member institution or corporation. For institutional grants, tied proposals are prioritized for follow‑up work, institutions without prior funded proposals, or projects that are part of funding requests to other sources (proof of external funding required before disbursement).
