About this program
NordForsk, in collaboration with multiple international funders (including UKRI, Swiss NSF, Canada's NFRF and IDRC, and FAPESP), invites interdisciplinary research proposals that harness disruptive technologies to deliver transformative solutions to global challenges and accelerate progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The call funds international projects; Nordic participation is managed by NordForsk together with the national research councils of Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Iceland, with up to 17.1 MNOK available per Nordic consortium and intent to support Nordic involvement in about 12 projects. Eligible teams must be international and eligible for funding from at least three participating funders (one of which must be Canadian); projects seeking NordForsk funding must include partners from at least two different Nordic countries and a Nordic Co-Principal Investigator. Applicants were required to submit a Notice of Intent by 3 March 2026 to be eligible to submit a Letter of Intent by 9 June 2026 (via the Convergence Portal); full applications are due 3 November 2026.
