OREF New Investigator Grant

About this program

The Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) offers a $50,000 New Investigator Grant to provide seed and start-up funding for clinically relevant orthopaedic research and advance the training of emerging orthopaedic clinician-scientists. Letters of intent are due August 13, 2026, and applications are due October 15, 2026. Applicants must be U.S.-licensed orthopaedic surgeons serving as principal investigators at U.S. institutions; residents, fellows, and surgeons who completed formal training within the past four years are eligible. Each principal investigator may submit only one letter of intent and one application category per grant cycle.
