The Oregon Community Foundation’s Oregon Historic Trails Fund provides grants typically ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 for projects that preserve and protect Oregon’s historic trail resources, including interpretive, educational, economic, marketing, advocacy, and research activities. The 2026 application period opens September 1, with applications due by 5 p.m. on October 15, 2026. Eligible applicants include government agencies, federally recognized tribes, and IRS-designated 501(c)(3) public charities; projects must relate to one or more historic trails recognized under Oregon law, with priority given to interpretation, preservation, and maintenance. Grantees must submit expenditure and project reports within 11 months of receiving funds.
