About this program

Oregon Sea Grant at Oregon State University provides modest Program Development Grants for seed funding of exploratory or high-risk projects, urgent needs, and unforeseen opportunities, generally for projects lasting one year or less. Awards typically do not exceed $10,000, with funding of up to $6,700 in direct costs available during April–December 2026 to eligible Oregon residents who can receive an OSU personal services contract and are registered in the federal SAM system. Requests above $6,700 must be submitted through an Oregon college or university, and awards exceeding $10,000 are generally limited to eligible faculty at Oregon higher-education institutions. Proposals are reviewed quarterly, with submissions due March 31, June 30, September 30, or December 31.
