About this program

The Oregon Wine Board (OWB) awards competitive research grants to institutions conducting viticulture and enology projects of direct relevance to the Oregon wine industry, with priority for work that advances wine quality, sustainable production, and climate-adaptive practices. Funding decisions are guided by the OWB strategic research plan and made annually following review and recommendation by an Oregon-based Research Committee; OWB-supported results are reported to industry via seminars, extension publications, and peer-reviewed journals. Applicants must submit proposals online through the Unified Grants Management for Viticulture and Enology (UGMVE) portal by Jan 31, align with the RFP’s stated priority areas, and will be evaluated on scientific quality, industry relevance, budget, and available staff/facility resources.
