About this program
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), through its Coasts, Oceans, Ports & Rivers Institute, offers the Orville T. Magoon Sustainable Coasts Award to recognize outstanding contributions to sustainable engineering practices for managing shorelines and coastal infrastructure. The award includes a trophy and an honorarium determined annually. Nominees may be individuals whose work advances sustainable coastal research, design, construction, or management while balancing coastal values with project needs; ASCE membership is not required. Nominations are due November 1 and must include a signed cover letter, the nominee’s CV or biography, and up to three recommendation letters.
