The Division on Corrections and Sentencing of the American Society of Criminology, in partnership with RTI International, offers a $3,000 dissertation award to support doctoral research on corrections or sentencing. Proposed work should address an important research problem and demonstrate strong methodology and potential to make a meaningful contribution to the field. Applicants must have completed coursework, passed comprehensive exams, and successfully defended their dissertation prospectus by the award date; submissions must include a 1,500-word narrative, CV, and dissertation chair’s support letter. Nominations are due August 31, 2026, and should be emailed to Claudia Anderson with the subject line “Dissertation Scholarship Award Nomination.”
