Parish America 250 Program Mini Grants

About this program

The America 250 Louisiana State Commission, Louisiana Office of the Lieutenant Governor, and Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities offer grants of up to $1,500 for free public humanities programs highlighting Louisiana’s contributions to the founding and development of the United States. Eligible activities include lectures, exhibits, reenactments, festivals, school events, and other community programs conducted between January 1 and December 31, 2026; applications are accepted on a rolling basis from May 9 through October 31, 2026, as funds remain available. Priority applicants include Louisiana parish governments, tourism commissions, and school boards, along with eligible nonprofits, higher-education organizations, government agencies, and federally or state-recognized Native American tribal governments. Applicants must provide an EIN, UEI, proof of tax status, and a 1:1 cash or in-kind cost share; programs must be free, publicly accessible, humanities-focused, and provide balanced viewpoints where appropriate.
