Patient Directed Investigation Grant

About this program

The Dermatology Foundation offers the Patient Directed Investigation Grant, a $25,000 annual award to support translational, patient-oriented clinical research that directly impacts patient care in medical, surgical, procedural, pediatric, or other dermatology subspecialties. Applicants should be early-career clinical investigators and proposals must be conducted in the U.S. under the sponsorship of an ACGME-accredited dermatology department/division and meet the Foundation’s general eligibility requirements; recipients may compete for a second year of funding. Investigators from minority or underserved populations and projects addressing health issues affecting these groups are encouraged to apply; applications will be submitted via the CDAFG portal (open July 2026) with a deadline of October 15, 2026.
